During replacement of sanitary sewer line M-126 on Normandy Road, west of Queen Street (Mapsco 79A), unstable soil conditions were encountered that could not be avoided nor controlled. As the contractor performed the open cut, they experienced large amounts of sub-base material sloughing off from the trench. Upon considering the alternatives, it was thought best to perform a reconstruction of the roadway (a length of 310 LF) in conjunction with the 6" water line replacement(a length of 300 LF) - the water line is severely deteriorated and in need of replacement. The Department of Engineering has requested TC&B to provide construction plans for replacement of approximately 310 feet of street pavement and 300 feet of waterline. Based on our preliminary investigation, the following tasks will be required. • Roadway and waterline design and preparation of P&P sheet and details • Roadway cross-sections at 50-foot intervals Our estimated fee to complete this work is $5,900. We understand that the City will provide topographic surveying services. Please see the Contract Fee Summary below.
