Fort Worth Department of Engineering 1000 Throckmorton, Street Fort Worth, Texas 76102 Subject: Contract Amendment No. 1 To Prepare Traffic Control Plan Dear Mr. Sahu: The Transportation/Public Works (TPW) department of the City of Fort Worth recently began requiring the preparation of Traffic Control Plans on all projects. The Downtown Tunnel Rehabilitation project was started prior to the TPW requirement to prepare Traffic Control Plans and is therefore not included in the current scope of work for the project. In a meeting on November 30, 2000 with Randy Burkett, Mitch Montgomery, Gordon Alderman and others with TPW it was stated that a detailed Traffic Control Plan and construction schedule was necessary. The streets and traffic flow patterns impacted by the construction of access shafts and open cut construction in the Central Business District of Fort Worth requires design and planning. Traffic Control Plans for utility construction in Fort Worth have typically been prepared by Contractors during construction permitting processes to coordinate with their approach and methods of construction. This Traffic Control Plan will be the first one prepared on a Water Department utility project in downtown Fort Worth. The attached table is an estimate of the efforts to prepare a TPW approved Traffic Control Plan for this project. We are requesting a contract amendment in the amount of$8,575. This amendment request will increase the total fee from $181,320 to $189,895. Because of the small work efforts and schedule to complete work quickly we respectfully request that additional MWBE requirements not be applied/required for this amendment. 0M A4,111 J ,( ,G- the imagine-build company- Sanitary Sewer Mains D1 04D, D105, D1 05A, D109 Rehabilitation Page No. 2 DOE No. 3220 March 19, 2001 Thank you for considering this contract amendment request and should you require any additional information, please feel free to contact me.
