Home My WebLink AboutContract 47852-A1 CITY SECRE'T'ARY v AMENDMENT No. 1 CONTRACT'NOo g D y 1--6 I OCT 2 8 2016 (,NY OF FORT WORTH TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 47852 CITY SECRETARY WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and HDR Engineering, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 47852, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C C-27733 on the 24th day of May, 2016 in the amount of $ $850, 000; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: 2018 Bond Transportation Planning; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1. Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated October 19, 2016, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $250,000. (See Attached Funding Breakdown Sheet, Page -3-) 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $1,100,000. 00. 3 . All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect. EXECUTED and EFFECTIVE as of the date last written by a signatory, below. The original Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) identified that additional funding would be required to complete the necessary layouts and cost estimating. You have informed us that additional funding has been identified and has been made available for this purpose. Per you direction, HDR requests that a contract amendment in the amount of$250,000 be authorized for the completion of necessary layouts and cost estimates identified in the planning process. DISCUSSION: On May 24,2016, (M&C C-27733)the City Council authorized the execution of an Engineering Services Agreement with HDR Engineering,Inc., in the amount of$850,000.00 for transportation related services for the 2018 Bond planning process. Additional funding for this project has been made available in Council action(M&C G-18738). The original Mayor and Council Communication(M&C) and contract with HDR, Inc., identified that additional funding would need to be added to the original$850,000,000.00 contract to complete the necessary layouts and cost estimates. Staff recommends authorization of Amendment No. 1 to allocate an additional$250,000.00 in funding to this work effort. HDR Engineering,Inc., is to perform the additional engineering services for task orders for an amount not to exceed$250,000.00. Staff considers the fee to be fair and reasonable for the scope of services proposed. Authorizations provided with this M&C will result in no additional annual operating impacts to the Transportation and Public Works Department's operating budget. M/WBE Office-HDR Engineering, Inc.,is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to an additional 10 percent SBE participation on this Amendment No. 1. The City's SBE goal on this Amendment or extra work is 10 percent.
