COUNTY OF TARRANT $
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Gutierrez, Smouse,
Wilmut & Associates, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City
Secretary Contract No. 27181, (the Contract) which was authorized
by the City Council by M&C C-18798 on the 16th day of October
2001; and subsequently revised by seven previous amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Engineering contract for the design of Water and Sanitary
Sewer Extension for Old Denton Road/Golden Triangle Blvd.
Area.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 8
to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement which amends the Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the
additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter
dated July 19, 2004, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design
services to be performed by Engineer total $4, 630 .00.

Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work
and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $240, 039. 00.

All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force

Proposed Amendment No. 8 to City Secretary Contract No. 27181;
Mr. Domenech:
This letter is our formal request for Supplemental Authorization to be compensated for
additional engineering services as requested by the City.
Justification
The City staff has asked us to revise the alignment for Sewer Line 'C' on Old Denton
Road and move it under the pavement. Moving the sewer line to the east under the
pavement will negate the need for any temporary construction easement along the west
side of the roadway and any boring under the pavement for services. Temporary
closure of the road to through traffic with a detour during construction has already been
incorporated in the design for the proposed water line to be installed on Old Denton
Road with this project.
The additional costs are summarized below:
Realignment of Sewer Line 'C' (approx. 1000') $4,630.00
TOTAL FOR PROPOSED AMENDMENT NO. 8 FEE $4,630.00
