Re: Additional Geotechnical Investigation for Northside IV 24-Inch Water Transmission Main (City
Project No.100277�
Dear Mr. Sauceda:
Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI) is providing this proposal for amendment of the Engineering Design
Services for the Northside IV 24-Inch Water Transmission Main, Project 6N4 (City Project Number
100277). The foilowing scope and fee inciudes additional geotechnical investigation to be completed in
addition to items included in Task 2.Z of the original contract. FNI's records show that the work
contained in this proposal would serve as Contract Amendment No.1.
Per the original contract, a geotechnical memorandum was to be prepared using information from an
existing geotechnical investigation and/or reports supplied to FNI by the City. However, due to the
length oftime since the original geotechnical investigation was perFormed, the City was unable to locate
a copy of the original geotechnical data. Therefore, a new geotechnical investigation is needed to
complete the geotechnical memorandum.
The additional geotechnical scope includes five (5) 20-foot deep geotechnical drillings, sampling, staking,
surveying, logging, labaratory testing, and analysis for the following locations:
• Santa Gertrudis Street and Seth Barwise Street
• Hereford Drive and Seth Barwise Sfireet
• WJ Boaz Road and Seth Barvuise Street
• Skysail Road and Bowman Roberts Road
• Eagles Landing Drive and W. Bailey Boswell Road
The fee for the additional services is $6,963.00. A summary of the additional costs are shown below:
