COUNTY OF TARRANT S
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Dal-Tech
Engineering, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 28910, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City
Council by MSC C-19644 on the 8th day of July 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Water and Sewer Replacement Contract 2003 STM-A
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to
said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through
their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following
agreement, which amends the Contract:

Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated January
25th/ 2006, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be
performed by Engineer total $1,675.00.

Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and
services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $45,788.89.
3.
All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Rakesh,
Our subconsultant, EJES, requested a fee increase due to a change in design, the justification
for this fee increase is acceptable to DAL-TECH and is based on the following: The CITY
has requested that we modify the alignment of the proposed 12"water line replacement and
move it back to its original location in Chapin Road. The design concept for re-alignment of
the existing 12" water line was originally pursued based upon the following criteria:
a. minimize clearance conflicts with existing storm sewer lines in Chapin Road
b. avoid existing unstable embedment areas caused by previous point repairs
c. improve pipe installation/constructability efforts of the new water line
d. allow for the existing line to remain in-service until the tie-in points were connected
We are requesting your consideration in the execution of this Amendment No. 1 which
identifies additional design services required to perform the alignment revisions. We feel
that these services are beyond the existing scope of services described in our AGREEMENT.
The following fee schedule describes the increase in the contract amount.
Original Contract Amount $ 44,113.89
Amount of Amendment $ 1,675.00
Revised Contract Amount $ 45,788.89
