WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Kimley-Horn and
Associates, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract
No. 48723, (the CONTRACT) which was administratively authorized on the 21St
day of February, 2017 in the amount of $72, 643 . 00; and
•
WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the
following project:
Design Services for University Drive Fiber Conduit Design and
Construction Phase Services; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to the
CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee.
NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their
duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which
amends the CONTRACT:

Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in a proposal dated February 8, 2018, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to
City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals
$4,360. 00. (See Attached Funding Breakdown Sheet, Page -3-)

Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in
the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under
the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all
work and services shall be an amount of $ 77,003. 00.
3 .
All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended
herein, shall remain in full force and effect.
EXECUTED and EFFECTIVE as of the date last written by a signatory,
below.

Phase Services
Dear Clint:
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. ("Kimley-Horn"or"Consultant") is pleased to submit this Amendment
#1 to the City of Fort Worth (City) to provide additional services to design additional improvements
associated with the Screening Wall 31 and University at Rosedale projects.
The following Scope of Services has been developed based on our discussions with the City.
Scope of Services
Kimley-Horn will provide the services specifically set forth below.
Task 7—Fiber Conduit and Ground Box Design
Kimley-Horn will prepare design plans to repair fiber optic conduit and a fiber ground box that was
damaged during construction of the proposed screen wall along the IH-30 westbound frontage road.
Kimley-Horn will also prepare a task order amendment to the contractor's construction task order to
perform the repair services. The design will comply with applicable City and TxDOT specifications and
details.
Task 8—Traffic Signal Improvements at University& Rosedale
At the request of the Traffic Management division, Kimley-Horn will prepare design plans to install a
new traffic signal pole and mast arm, along with associated conduit and cable for the southbound left-
turn lane. This turn lane is currently controlled by a pedestal pole located in the median along
University Drive. This pedestal pole gets hit often resulting in significant maintenance costs. The
installation of a signal pole and mast arm will better protect the equipment and reduce maintenance
costs. Kimley-Horn will also amend the current construction task order to include these
improvements.
Additional Services
Any services not specifically provided for in the above scope will be billed as additional services and
performed at our then current hourly rates
Schedule
We will provide our services in a mutually agreed upon schedule following Notice to Proceed from the
City. Additional services, if desired, will be performed in a timely manner upon authorization by the

City.
Fee and Expenses
Kimley-Horn will perform the services in Tasks 7 and 8 for a not-to-exceed fee of$4,360. All permitting,
application, and similar project fees will be paid directly by the Client.
Kimley-Horn will not exceed the total maximum labor fee shown without authorization from the Client.
