"' S 2 ped' 'Poo CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 46120 ! t �� S�C��PA� !yti WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and TranSystems Corporation dba TranSystems Corporation Consultants, (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 46120, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C C-27048 on the 21st day of October, 2014 in the amount of $ $98, 585 . 00; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by: Amendment Number 1 in the amount of $31, 045. 00 which was administratively authorized on July 22, 2015, Amendment Number 2 in the amount of $122,403 . 50 which was authorized by M&C # C-27890 on August 30, 2016, ; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Mark IV Parkway Final Design and Construction Services; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 3 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1. Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated December 4, 2017, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $$35, 125. 00. (See Attached Funding Breakdown Sheet, Page -3-) 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $$287, 158. 50. 3 . The work performed is related to Mark IV Parkway/Cantrell- Sansom roundabout in north Fort Worth. Construction Phase Services and Project Management Assistance.................................. $ 18,270.00 • TranSystems was asked to take on a more extensive Project Management Assistance role than was originally scoped due to project workload of the City's Project Manager.These increased responsibilities included coordination with adjacent land owners and business, responding to complaints received from the public, preparing official correspondence to the contractor, updating project risk register, updating total project budget estimates,coordination with the Parks and Water departments, and preparing for and conducting bi-weekly, sometimes weekly,on-site meetings. • Contractor delays have extended the project duration an additional 7 months to date, requiring additional Project Management Assistance by TranSystems.The original contract time for this project was 250 days with an anticipated completion date of May 26, 2017. As of November 28, 2017 the contractor has yet to issue a letter stating work on this project is complete. • We anticipate being engaged on this project through January 2018.Tasks during the next 2 months will include an on-site meeting, review of Change Order No. 5,TDLR inspection coordination,final walk through, punch list and final acceptance,and assisting the City with liquidated damages claim.This extra time is due to contractor delays. Develop Roundabout Central Island Xeriscape Plans..........................................................$ 6,680.00 • Due to high cost associated with the long term maintenance of a landscaped central island the City request that TranSystems develop xeriscape plans to eliminate the need for ongoing maintenance. On an expedited schedule,TranSystems developed a conceptual layout and worked with staff from Parks and TPW departments to develop the final layout, plans and specifications.
