WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and RJN Group, Inc. ,
(Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 33145, (the
Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-21243 on the
10th day of January 2006; qu n e p s
amendment; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Engineering Design Services: Street Reconstruction, Water and Sewer
Replacement on Hatcher Streeet (Quails Ln to Hardeman St) , Chickasaw
Avenue (Shackleford St to Miller Ave) , Jennifer Ct (Eastland St to
Eastland St) , Lois St (Sydney St to E Dead End) , Norris St (Crouch Ave to
E Dead End) , Sydney St (E Berry St to Reed St) and Whitehall St (Miller
Ave to Pate Dr) , 2004 CIP Contract Year 3, Contract 33, Project No.
00272; DOE No. 5107
Water Project No. P253-6051700272
Sewer Project No. P258-7051700272
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said
Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their
duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which
amends the Contract:

Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional

engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated April -28-,2006,
a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to
City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total
$11,038.50.00 .

Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in
the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services
performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by
the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of
$232 ,946.55.
3 .
All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Ms. Johnson,
In accordance with direction received from the City of Fort Worth Department of Engineering,
RJN Group is pleased to submit this amendment for additional services for the above referenced
project.
Additional Services consist of performing geotechnical investigations, materials testing and
preparation of a geotechnical report with roadway design recommendations. A detailed Scope of
Services and unit prices for the proposed work are given in the attached letter from our
geotechnical subconsultant, Kleinfelder.
Amendment Summary: Geotechnical Services $10,035.00
10°% Subconsultant Administration Fee $ 1,003.50
AMENDMENT 1 TOTAL $11,038.50
Original Contract Value $221,908.05
Amendment 1 $ 11,038.50 (4.97% of original contract)
TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT $232,946.55
No additional M/WBE participation is possible with this amendment, as all work to be performed will
performed by the subconsultant. The revised overall M/WBE participation level for RJN GR
contract is 22.87% The original goal for M/WBE participation was 24%.
