(No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Freese & Nichols, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 33095, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-21241 on the 10th day of January 2006; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering Design Services : Street Reconstruction, Water and Sewer Main Replacements Portions of Avenue H (S Ayers Ave to Miller Ave) , Avenue A (Nashville Ave to Thrall St) , Newark Ave (Avenue C to E Rosedale St) , Avenue I (S Collard St to Bishop St) , Court Street (N Dead End to E Vickery Blvd) , Parkdale Ave (Koch St to Vickery Blvd) and Avenue G (S Beach St to Binkley St) , 2004 CIP Contract Year 3, Contract 39, Project No. 00275; DOE No. 5145 WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1 . Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated August 24,2006, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $15,439.00. �_ 16RIGINA, 2 . Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $250,590.00. 3. Project Scope Please see attached geotechnical scope of services. The geotechnical study deliverables are summarized as follows: Geotechnical Engineering Report including the following(Six bound copies) 1. Plan of Borings 2. Boring Log 3. Summary of Laboratory Results 4. Discussion of Subsurface Soil and groundwater conditions 5. Calculated potential vertical rise 6. Pavement Thickness Calculations 7. Recommendations for subgrade stabilization 8. Recommendations regarding earthwork and site grading Prosect Schedule The geotechnical study will be complete 5 weeks from the time authorization is received. The results of the study will be included in the preliminary engineering report for the project. Proiect Scope Freese and Nichols will amend our subcontract agreement with Gorrondona and Associates to prepare 4 right-of-way documents for four (4) parcels on Avenue "A". Freese and Nichols will deliver four (4) original copies of the right-of-way documents for each of the four(4)parcels. l Proiect Schedule The right-of-way documents will be complete three weeks from the time authorization is received.
