(No M&C Needed) S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and TranSystems Corporation Consultants, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 34116, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-21715 on the 26th day of September 2006; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering Design Services: Street Reconstruction, Water and Sewer Replacement on Fain Street (N. Beach St to Airport Fwy), Fairview Street (Airport Fwy to Maurice Ave), Harper Street (S. Dead End to Parrish Rd),.Karnes Street (Airport Fwy to Race St) and Primrose Ave (Gwynne St to Eagle Dr), 2004 CIP Contract Year 4& 5, Contract 46, Project No. 00445; DOE No. 5398 WHEREAS, it to said Contract maximum fee; has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to include an increased scope of work and revised NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated January 5,2007, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $11,660.00. 2. Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $227,627.00. �ORIGINAL �� ,� I _, . Department of Engineering City of Fort Worth 1000 Throckmorton Street Fort Worth, TX 76102-6311 RE: Amendment No.1 2004 CIP Contract No. 46 City Secretary No. 34116 Water, Sanitary Sewer, Paving & Drainage Improvements for: Fain St., Fairview St., Harper St., KarneslNoble St., and Primrose Avenue Dear Ms. Johnson, In accordance with your request, we are pleased to present this proposal for your consideration. Per 1he requirements of the Department of Engineering, TranSystems proposes to provide Geotechnical Investigation and Design services with respect to the above r�ferenced project. Specific seNices will be applied to all streets that have been scheduled for pavement reconstruction under our existing conUact. The scope of these services will include: • Exploration of subsurface conditions; • Determination of physical soil properties by laboratory testing; and, • Provision of geotechnical recommendations for use in determining subgrade treatment, pavement thickness, reinforcement, and joint requirements in accordance with the City of Fort Worth 2005 Pavement Design Standards Manual and AASHTO standarcls. A total of 12 soil borings emplaced to a depth of 10-feet below the existing pavements are proposed for these services. Borings will be allocated to each street segment as follows: • Kames Street — 2 Borings • Harper Street — 3 Borings • Fairview Street — 3 Borings • Fain Street — 2 Borings • Primrose Avenue — 2 borings � , System� The geotechnical consultant that will perform the work as noted above is Kleinfelder. The work will be conducted from their Fort Worth office. The additional fee for this work has been estimated at a11,660. This figure includes a 10% administrative fee for TranSystems to manage the geotechnical consultant.
