Because this roadway segment is on the TxDOT system, a utility crossing permit will be required for construction of the facilities. In addition, a portion of the proposed storm drain improvements will be installed by open cut methods within the ROW and therefore TxDOT will require the preparation of a traffic control plan to be submitted with the permit application. Although the permit application is included as part of our original scope of work, the preparation of traffic control plans were excluded during the contract negotiation phase with the understanding that if a plan was required, TCB would submit a request for supplemental authorization to prepare the plans. Based on recent conversations with TxDOT regarding this project, we have been informed that a traffic control plan, in conformance with TxDOT standards, will be required for approval of the application and issuance of the permit. Because a traffic control plan was not included in our original contract, we are requesting supplemental authorization in the amount of $4,860 to prepare the necessary plans and select the applicable standard details. A breakdown of this fee can be found in Attachment A. Should you have any questions or need additional information, please our Project Manager, Bryan Jann, at 817.698.6787.
