RENEWAL OF LEASE AGREEMENT
This Lease Renewal is made and entered into in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, by
and between the Fort Worth Housing Authority, Lessor, and the City of Fort Worth, a municipal
corporation, acting by and through its duly authorized representative Joe Paniagua Lessee, to
renew a written lease of property located at 1607 Chambers, Fort Worth Texas 76102 in the City
of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, the LEASE (City Secretary Contract No. 34390).
WHEREAS, Lessor and Lessee entered into a 1 year Lease beginning on March 1, 2006
and ending on February 28, 2007.
WHEREAS,the Lease allowed two options to renew the lease for 1 year each term.
WHEREAS, Lessee desires to exercise its option to renew the Lease effective March 1,
2008,
NOW THEREFORE, inconsideration of the terms and conditions contained herein, the
parties agree as follows:
1. The term of this Lease Renewal shall be for one (1) year, commencing March 1,
2008 and ending on February 28, 2009.
2. All other terms and conditions of the Lease remain unchanged.

Authorize Lease Agreement with the Fort Worth Housing Authority for Office Space Located at 1607 F
Chambers for the Police Department
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:

1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a lease agreement with the Fort Worth Housing Authority for
office space located at 1607 Chambers at a cost of$1.00 per year; and i

2. Authorize the lease term to begin March 1, 2006 and expire February 28, 2007, with two 12-month
renewal options.
DISCUSSION: I
The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division, at the request of the Police Department, has
negotiated a lease agreement with the Fort Worth Housing Authority for office space to be used by
neighborhood police officers.
The lease term is for one year, with two 12-month options to renew. There is a rental charge of $1.00 per
year for the space. The landlord is responsible for all utility payments, including telephone service. The
Police Department has occupied this space since 1995.
RENEWAL OPTIONS - This agreement may be renewed for up to two successive one-year terms at the
City's option. This action does not require specific City Council approval provided that the City Council has
appropriated sufficient funds to satisfy the City's obligations during the renewal terms.

FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of
the Crime Control and Prevention District Fund.
