WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Multatech Engineering
Inc., (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 35232,
(the Contract) which v�as authorized by the City Council by M&C C-22040 on
the 3rd day of April; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves enqineerinq services for the
follo�ving project:
Water and Sanitary Se�er Replacement Contract 2004, WSM-M.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said
Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their
duly authorized representatives, enter into the folloMing agreement which
amends the Contract:

Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated July 27, 2010,
a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein . The cost to
City for the additional dasign services to be performed by Engineer total
$14,000.00.(Water: $10,324.54; Sewer: $3,675.46)

Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in
the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services
performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by
the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of
$97,535.00.

COFW Project 00399, Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacement Contract WSM-M
Mr. Chaubey,
MULTATECH Engineering was awarded the above referenced project on April 3, 2007. On June
22, 2007, MULTATECH submitted (30%) Conceptual Plans, (60%) Preliminary Plans on
September 25, 2007, Temporary Right of Entry forms on October 30, 2007, street boring
request on November 01, 2007 and Utility Clearance plans on January 17, 2008.
Originally Bellaire Circle included the design of 1,000 linear feet of 16" and 8" water line. At the
preliminary review stage the 16" water line was eliminated and the 8" water line was increased
in size to a 12" water line. However at that point, the 16" and 8" water lines had already been
preliminarily designed. The change in scope resulted in elimination of plan sheets, re-cutting, re-
stationing and profiling of the 8" water line to reflect the new 12" water line stationing, profile and
adjustment to the overall water layout sheet and table of contents. The additional work due to
the change in line size resulted in a change in scope and increase in project cost to
MULTATECH.
In September 2007, at the 60% submittal, the City determined the project should be delayed
due to funding issues and no further work was to be done. Between January 2008 and February
2010 monthly MWBE reports were submitted to the DBE Office. Also the City requested
updated project status reports, cost estimates and a site visit to determine pavement conditions.
In March 2010 the City requested the project resume and plans, specifications and probable
estimate of cost be brought up to date and re-submitted for a second 60% review. The three
year delay and resumption of the project has resulted in additional cost to MULTATECH.
At the second 60% review it was decided to extend the proposed 8" water line in Terrell Avenue
to the east crossing Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way and connecting to the existing 8" water
line that was constructed in 1992-1993 (Ref. X-11314). This is a change in scope at additional
cost to MULTATECH.
Due to the delay and change in scope, MULTATECH is requesting amendment number 1 to our
current contract to cover the additional expense and change in scope.
