HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 48498-A5 �Y4849 9-ff5 J o� AMENDMENT No . 5 v�oS TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Freese & Nichols, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 48498, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C C-28046 on the 13th day of December, 2016 in the amount of $386,311 . 00; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $6, 963 . 00 administratively authorized February 28, 2017, Amendment No. 2 in the amount of $34,592 .00 administratively authorized August 9, 2017 , Amendment No. 3 in the amount of $43,182 . 00 administratively authorized October 25, 2017 and Amendment No. 4, in the amount of $165,429.00 authorized May 15, 2018 (M&C C-28684) ; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Northside IV 24-inch Water Main, along Bowman Roberts Road from Santa Gertrudis Street to Haltom Bailey Boswell Road. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No.5 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1 . Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated November 28, 2018 a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $49,012 . 00. 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and servi es shall be an amount of $685,489.00 OFC iLu,"Ki�.COR® CITY SECRETARY Page -1- FT. In 2017, design was completed for the Northside IV 24-inch water transmission main (CPN 100277). This amendment is an addition to the scope of work for Amendment 4 to the design contract. The facilities to be designed for this project will generally include improvements to the Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant(EMWTP) Phase III expansion with: • Addition of electric actuated ball valves for pump control; • Revision to SCADA and Variable Frequency Drive specifications to account for actuated pump control valves. These design elements will be added to the current NS IV pump addition design from Amendment 4. The detailed scope of work is described below. BASIC SERVICES 1. Prepare a motor operated ball valve specification for pump control service. 2. Prepare a revised SCADA specification to incorporate pump control ball valve. 3. Prepare a revised VFD specification to incorporate pump control ball valve/ 4. Revise civil, electrical, power, and instrumentation drawings to incorporate pump control ball valve. a. Revise control schematic for proposed HSP-20 pump b. Edit existing control schematics of HSP-18 and HSP-19 to integrate pump control ball valves c. Revise General Detail Sheets — Revise standard and general detail sheets 5. Prepare a revised Opinion of Probable Construction Cost that assumes pump control ball control valves. 6. Meeting with Client PM and Operations for control coordination —Attend meetings (up to two) with the City to review control preferences and additional third-party programming needs. 7. Construction Phase Services-General Representation a. Additional pump control ball valve submittal support—Presubmittal meeting with Contractor and Vendor, Engineer submittal review, post submittal meeting to coordinate with electrical trades. b.
