DISCUSSION: The Storm Water Management Program was established to reduce flooding in Fort Worth, preserve streams, minimize water pollution and to operate the storm water system in a more effective manner to fully comply with state and federal regulatory requirements. This will be accomplished by infrastructure reconstruction and system maintenance, master planning, enhanced development review and increased public education and outreach. On August 21, 2007, the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an Engineering Agreement with Boydston Designs, Inc., City Secretary Contract No. 35817, in the amount of $41,550.00 for the South Crestwood Drainage Improvement Study. During review of the concept study report, staff identified an area in the immediate vicinity that is contributing to the flooding problem and needs to be added to the project. Amendment No. 1 will provide topographical survey of the identified area, conceptual design services to identify the scope for future design work, TV inspection of the existing storm drain in the original study area, as well as in the expanded study area. Boydston Designs, Inc., proposes to perform the additional services for a lump sum fee of $42,440.00. City staff considers the fee to be fair and reasonable for the scope of services proposed. In addition to the contract amount, $4,244.00 is required for project management by the Transportation and Public Works Department. Boydston Designs, Inc., is in compliance with the City's MWBE Ordinance by committing to 25 percent MWBE participation on this Amendment No. 1. This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7, Mapsco 61V and 61Z.
