Woods & Associates, LLC Structural and Forensic Engineering 1151 W.Pioneer Pkwy Arlington,Texas 76013 817-277-6686 www.rlwaengineers.com May 13,2019 Ms. Debbie Fulwiler Elements of Architecture,Inc. 1201 6"'Avenue, Suite 100 Fort Worth,TX 76104 Reference: Design of modifications to existing roof framing to accommodate Arts Lighting of Pioneer Tower Will Rogers Memorial Center Fort Worth,TX. Dear Ms. Fulwiler: Under a prior proposal, R. L. Woods & Associates provided an assessment of the exiting roof framing at 3 of the 4 proposed lighting platform locations (auditorium roof, arena roof, and mechanical room roof). We reported on the capacity of the structure to support the weight of the platforms and equipment loads. If it is determined that the equipment will be mounted on these roofs, some modification of existing roof framing and detailing for the attachment of platforms to the roof will be required. This proposal addresses those additional services. Based on our understanding of the project, we propose the following scope of services and compensation: I. SCOPE—DOCUMENTATION AND ANALYSIS A. Design modifications to structure required to allow bearing of platforms on the subject. At the bar joists systems, this would include adding stiffeners to joists to allow bearing of platform between joist panel points, but does not include augmentation of the joists to increase their overall moment or shear capacity. At wood deck system (auditorium), this includes adding blocking for attachment of platform legs. B. Design attachments for platforms to roofs. C. Provide Construction Drawings showing modifications to existing roof framing and detailing for attachment of platforms. 11. LIMITATION OF SCOPE The scope of our services does not include any other services not specifically listed in the scope of services above. 11I. PROPOSAL ASSUMPTIONS: A. We plan to perform our services between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays. IV. COMPENSATION: We propose to perform these services for a stipulated sum of$1840. This proposal is valid for projects initiated within 90 days from date of this proposal. We look forward to working with your office on this project. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions regarding the proposed Scope of Services or if you need any additional information. Sincerely, R.L. (Revision already done) I also need a fee if they change the east and west locations to something out in the yard adjacent to the east and west ticket booths. I would assume it is similar to the north, as power and data are not available to this spots already and have to core drill or trench for these installations. We do not know if this is our direction yet,so just need a fee for now. Can you get me this fee in the next couple of days? Just an email with fee is really all I need. I also need to see if you can be available at our next CAC meeting which is on June 17 at 1:00 at staff conference room at WRMC.
