HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 34348 AMENDMENT NO. 1 STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF TEXAS § CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth ("City") and Teague Nall and Perkins ("Consultant") made and entered into City of Fort Worth City Secretary Contract No. 33778, ("Contract") which was authorized per City Council action on July 11, 2006,Reference No. C-21557; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves professional services for the following project: Nature Center Improvement Plans—Design of Canoe Landings WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Contract to include an increased scope of work and/or revised maximum fee. NOW, THEREFORE, City and Consultant, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the contract: 1. Article I, Section A of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services identified on Attachment B-1, dated October 27, 2006, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. 1` 2. Article H of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee in the amount of $ 9,000.00, which is to be paid to Consultant for all work and services under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee to be paid by City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $ 60,800.00. 3. All other provisions of the Contract that are not expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and effect. Executed on this the I c'f day of , 2006. The Consultant will coordinate his efforts with the client's representative as necessary. The Consultant shall provide the following professional services necessary for the development of the Project. Landscape Architecture and Engineering Services 1. The Preliminary budget for this project has been provided by the city to be estimated at $9,000.00. This is to be divided as necessary between the two canoe landing sites. The following two projects are as follows: Project A—Canoe Landing A (West Fork) Project B—Canoe Landing B (Greer Island) 2. Design criteria for Project A— Canoe Landing A (West Fork) A. Preparation of 1 conceptual illustrative horizontal layout option document with 1 rendered illustrative perspective document for the canoe landing area located on the West Fork of the Trinity River. These documents will be used for fundraising purposes and as a guide for the preparation of construction documents. A description of the required permitting along with an opinion of probable costs estimate. C. Survey data in the form of a topographic survey with 1' contours and trees located in the immediate project area on an assigned datum for future design development documents. 3. Design criteria for Project B -Canoe Landing B (Greer Island) A. Preparation of 1 conceptual illustrative horizontal layout option document with 1 rendered illustrative perspective document for the canoe landing area located in the vicinity south of Greer Island. These documents will be used for fundraising purposes and as a guide for the preparation of construction documents. B. A description of the required permitting along with an opinion of probable costs estimate. C. Survey data in the form of a topographic survey with 1'contours and trees located in the immediate project area on an assigned datum for future design development documents. General items: 1. The FWPACS will make available for Consultant use any existing site plans/construction documents for assistance in site assessment design. 2. No public meetings are required at this time. 3. Consultant will not be responsible for preparing TDLR paperwork and provide appropriate fees for review and inspection by TDLR. 4. Consultant will be responsible for determining necessary permits. 5. Consultant will not be responsible for executing requirements for obtaining necessary permits. 6. Under this contract the Consultant will complete topographic survey information. Coordinates will be based on assumed datum with bearings or direction obtained by compass. The elevation will be based on the lake elevation on the date of fieldwork. 7. All plans will include topographic layout at a scale suitable for a 22"x 34"sheet format. 8. Using data collected the Consultant will field-verify existing conditions and study site for proposed conditions. A team of two(2) people will conduct one field visit. 9. Two (2) canoe landing design concepts will be prepared in sketch form (as noted in above scope) that conveys the overall design idea that will be presented to client for input and consensus for future design development documents. The Consultant will prepare a schematic level opinion of probable construction cost delivered with concepts and permitting requirements outlined. Project Schedule: 1. Notice to Proceed 2. Design Concepts 4 Weeks 3. Client Review 1 Week 4. Final Illustrative Exhibits 4 Weeks 5. Final Client Review 1 Week ATTACHMENT B-1 SUMMARY OF DESIGN FEES Compensation: 1. Basic Services: The Client agrees to compensate on a lump sum basis the Consultant as follows: a. Consultant services associated with preparing the construction plans and documents shall be in accordance with the following breakdown. The Consultant's services are further outlined in Attachment A noted as Landscape Architectural and Engineering services. i. Landscape Architectural Design services. $9,000 (Nine Thousand Dollars). ii. The Consultant Fee breakdown is as follows: 1. Prime Consultant Landscape Architectural and Civil Services $4,500 (Four Thousand Dollars). 2. Prime Consultant Topographic Survey Services $4,000 Four Thousand Dollars). 3. Reproduction/ Printing Services $500 (One Thousand Dollars). TOTAL NOT-TO-EXCEED $9,000 (Nine Thousand Dollars). 2. Basic Services shall be billed monthly based on the percentage of work complete. � J i1 � :
