COUNTY OF TARRANT §
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and TranSystems Corporation
Consultants (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 29007 (the
Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-19678 on the 29th day of
July, 2003; and
WHEREAS,the Contract involves engineering services for the following project:
Sanitary Sewer Main 253 Replacement
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said
Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly
authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the
Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services
specified in a proposal letter dated November 1, 2006, a copy of which is attached hereto
and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by
Engineer total $35,243.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum
fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as
amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed
the sum of$ 925,578.00.
3.
All other provisions of the contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall
remain in full force and effect.

Authorize Execution of Amendment No. 1 to City Secretary Contract No. 29007 with Transystems
Corporation Consultants for Additional Services Related to Sanitary Sewer Main 253 Replacement
and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize the transfer of $35,243 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Sewer Capital
Projects Fund;
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of$35,243 from available funds; and
3. Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the City Secretary Contract No. 29007 with
TranSystems Corporation Consultants for additional services related to Sanitary Sewer Main 253
Replacement in the amount of$35,243, thereby increasing the contract to $925,578.
DISCUSSION:
On July 29, 2003, (M&C C-19678) the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an engineering
agreement with Transystems Corporation Consultants for Sanitary Sewer Main 253 Replacement for a fee
not to exceed $890,335.
Amendment No. 1 provides for Archeological Investigation of the proposed replacement of Sanitary Sewer
Main 253 required by the Texas Water Development Board for State Revolving Funds (SRF). These
services were not included in the original scope.
City staff considers the proposed fee of $35,243 to be fair and reasonable for the scope of additional
services to be performed.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 4 and 5.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of
the Sewer Capital Projects Fund.
