COUNTY OF TARRANT §
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth ("City") and Trinity Engineering Testing Corporation
(Kleinfelder), made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 35298 authorized by City Council
via
M&C G-15637 on March 20, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement involves geotechnical and material testing services; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 said Contract
increase the maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized
representatives, enter into the following agreement that amends the Contract:
1.
Article II, of the Contract is amended to provide for a $ 117,486.75 increase in the maximum
fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended,
so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of
$342,486.75.
2.
All other provisions of the Agreement which are not expressly amended herein shall
remain in full force and effect.

Authorize Amendment No. 1 in the Amount of$117,486.75 to City Secretary Contract No. 35298 with
Trinity Engineering Testing Corporation, d/b/a Kleinfelder for Geo-technical and Construction Material
Testing Services for Various Construction Projects
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 in the
amount of$117,486.75 to City Secretary Contract No. 35298 with Trinity Engineering Testing Corporation,
d/b/a Kleinfelder for Geo-technical and Construction Material Testing Services thereby increasing the total
contract amount to $342,486.75.
DISCUSSION:
On March 20, 2007, City Council Authorized the City Manager to execute a contract (City Secretary
Contract No. 35298, M&C G-15637) with Trinity Engineering Testing Corporation d/b/a Kleinfelder, for
geo-technical and construction material testing services for a period of 36 months with an aggregate fee
not to exceed $225,000.00. The City assigned on-going projects to Trinity Engineering Testing
Corporation d/b/a/ Kleinfelder. These projects are still under construction and it is recommended that we
continue utilizing their work and services until those projects are completed. The terms of the
recommended amendment will assure that the projects are completed.
FISCAL INFORMATION /CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that funds are available in the current capital
budgets, as appropriated, of the various capital improvements funds.
