HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 376381 • 1 • STATE OF TEXAS S CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. �1(p (No M&C .Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Dunaway Associates, L.P., (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 33325 (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-21317 on the 28�'' day of February,2006; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Intersection Improvements - Hulen Street S. at IH 20 City Project No. 00274: DOE No. 4977 WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated August 6,2008, a copy of which is attached• hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $8,048.00. 2. Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $263,370.00. Temporary Construction Easements.. As part of this project; a new northbound right-tum -lane is proposed along the east side of S; Helen Street that will provide improved storage length forvehicles making a right.turn to enter the eastbound IH2O fron#age road. After reviewing the schematic design;. TxDOT snd FH1NA have requested :construction of right -in -only driveway access for the 2 driveways closest to the EB frontage road (Denny's and the northerly drivetiivay en#ranee ©the. Helen Ooks. Center). The purpose of the:'right-n- only access is to improve safety by discouraging vehicles from entering Helen and .crossing the turning lane and northbound tt)rough lanes in art area too close to the signalized intersection. To make these driveways function properly (to discourage. exits onto Helen Street), a portion of the new driveway entrances must be constructed outside the existing stree# ROV1/. To comply with TxDOT's request, the following tasks are required: 1. Perform quantity take -off for new CSJ limits and revise and resubmit the opinion of probable construction cost. 2. Modify preliminary schematic to reflect new CSJ limits and submit 9 copies for TOOT review and processing. 3. Modify construction documents (revise CSJ limits on General Notes, Form 1002 (PS&E Submittal data form), cover sheet, roadway plans, revise quantity summary sheets for roadway, drainage, traffic control, pavement marking, and illumination).
