Authorize Execution of Amendment No. 2 to City Secretary Contract No. 17930 with the City of
Haslet Providing for the Construction of a Fourth Point of Connection to the Fort Worth Water System
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute
Amendment No. 2 to City Secretary Contract No. 17930 with the City of Haslet providing
for the construction of the fourth point of connection to the Fort Worth system.
DISCUSSION:
The wholesale water contract with the City of Haslet, City Secretary Contract No.
17930, requires additional points of connection to the Fort Worth system be mutually
agreed upon by the wholesale customer and the City of Fort Worth. The City of Haslet
has requested an additional water connection at the location of Keller -Hicks and
Harmon Road to serve an area in Haslet. Under the terms of the contract, Haslet will
pay the cost of the new metering facilities and any cost associated with connection to
the Fort Worth system, as well as the cost to abandon existing meter No. 1. Haslet is
responsible for constructing the water main extension from the 16 inch water main at
the southeast corner of Interstate Highway 35W and Keller -Hicks Road previously
constructed under separate agreement for oversizing by Haslet through Synergy
Industrial Park, LTD.
As part of this amendment Haslet will remove existing meter No. 1 located at Railhead
and Intermodal Parkway from service.
Staff has reviewed the requested meter location and capacity issues with Haslet and
has no objection to approval of these connections.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that this action will have no
material effect on City funds.
