This Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") will confirm the intention of Mental Health Connection
("MHC") and the City of Fort Worth, by and through the Police Department ("FWPD") to enter into a
partnership through which MHC will utilize grant money for the installation and usage of DataLink by
FWPD personnel and its affiliated service partners for the installation and usage of DataLink, and FWPD
will use DataLink as an electronic referral mechanism to connect social service providers with victims and
family members in crisis.
This letter is not a contract, but is merely a statement of our mutual intentions. We mutually agree that
the following terms accurately represent our intentions:
MHC shall:
➢ Provide grant money through a third party for FWPD to cover the cost of installation, training, and
one year of user fees for up to 5 to 8 users
➢ Provide a means of governance for DataLink through the MHC Technology Committee
FWPD shall:
➢ Use DataLink to make in -network referrals
➢ Encourage other agencies within the FWPD referral network to utilize DataLink
➢ Work to increase the number of programs and departments within FWPD that utilize DataLink
➢ Pay monthly DataLink user fees for all additional users over and the stated 8 users in the first
year, and for all users at the completion of the initial year of usage
With your signature on this MOU, MHC will initiate the grant payment and confirm the training schedule
for the initial users.
If the foregoing is consistent with your understanding, please indicate your concurrence by signing and
returning the enclosed copy of this letter.
