HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 51889-R2A2 CSC No.51889-R2A2 SECOND RENEWAL AND SECOND AMENDMENT TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. 51889 BETWEEN AMON CARTER WESTERN ART AND THE CITY OF FORT WORTH THIS SECOND RENEWAL AND SECOND AMENDMENT TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NUMBER 51889("Second Renewal and Second Amendment")is made and entered into by and between the CITY OF FORT WORTH,Texas, a home-rule municipal corporation of the State of Texas ("City"), acting by and through its duly authorized Assistant City Manager,and AMON CARTER WESTERN ART, a domestic nonprofit corporation ("Provider"), acting by and through its duly authorized representative. WHEREAS, City and Provider are parties to an agreement, City Secretary Contract No. 51889, that permits Provider to provide certain classes, workshops, seminars, or activities at various community centers owned and operated by the City("Agreement"); WHEREAS,on September 9,2019 the parties exercised a First Renewal Option of the Agreement extending the Agreement through August 31,2020; and WHEREAS, on April 20, 2020, the Agreement was amended to revise sections related to programming and meeting times; and WHEREAS,the parties now wish to continue their relationship by exercising a second renewal option renewing the Agreement through August 31, 2021;and WHEREAS, the parties desire to revise the Center(s) at which Provider's programs will be provided; and WHEREAS, the parties also desire to amend the Agreement to revise sections related to programming and meeting times and to add a virtual instruction program. NOW,THEREFORE,in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements contained herein, the City and the Provider do mutually covenant and agree to amend the Agreement as follows: I. Exhibit A of the Agreement,which details the Program,Center(s),and Schedule is hereby replaced with the exhibit attached to this Second Renewal and Second Amendment as Exhibit A. The attached Exhibit A is hereby incorporated into the Agreement for all purposes and supersedes any prior Exhibit A. All references to Exhibit A in the Agreement shall refer to the attached Exhibit A. Il. Pursuant to the Agreement, contract renewals are at the mutual agreement of the parties. Execution of this Second Renewal and Second Amendment shall serve as a renewal of the Agreement through August 31, 2021. III. All terms and conditions of the Agreement that are not expressly amended pursuant to this Second Renewal and Second Amendment shall remain in full force and effect. OFFTIA I. RFr-r)RD U- r FT. WORTH,T EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF SERVICES PROGRAM A: Summer with the Carter PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Over four consecutive weeks, participants will have the opportunity to interact virtually with Carter educators and four different local artists to consider the ways artmaking can express ideas about ourselves,our homes and families,and our larger communities.Participants will engage in dialogue around works of art in the Carter collection, learn art-making techniques, and get a peek into the practice of local working artists and create a work of art themselves in a different medium or combination of media each week. To comply with social distancing guidelines to prevent community spread of Covid-19, this Summers program will be presented via video and print media that community center staff can use to facilitate materials for the projects will be provided by the Carter and delivered to each center. Participants will engage in dialogue around works of art in the Amon Carter Museum of American Art Collection,learn art-making techniques, get a peek into the practice of local working artists, and create works of art themselves in a variety of media. The program will culminate in a visit to the Carter led by our museum educators to view many of the artworks discussed in person.
