HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 43431-A1 (2)a q11 AMENDMENT N0.1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 43431 WHEREAS, the City of Fort tnlorth (CITY) and Charles Crook Consul Ling Inc., (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 43431, (the CONTRACT) which was administratively (delete if by M&C)authorized on the 20 day of July, 2012 in the amount of $ 19,748,00, and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Harriet Creek Bridge and Sidewalk Railing Improvements; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No.1 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1. Article. I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated April 12, 2013, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $6,032.13. (See Attached Funding Breakdown Sheet, Page -3-) 2. Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $25,780.13. All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect. Additional fee in Amendment #1 is $6,032.13. Revised total Contract is $25,780.13 A. Engineering -provide structural engineering for custom rail design: This work was necessary due to the fact that we could not use a standard TxDOT rail section or TxDOT fastening system as originally anticipated at the contract writing and scope development stage of this project. Our structural engineer developed a new rail section designed for a TL-2 safety rating, yet allowed for a form liner texture to be applied to match the aesthetics of the existing bridge rail system. • Structural engineering and 10°fo for coordination $3,832.13 B. Surveying _ prepare a 10' wide sidewalk easement Although 'Attachment E3, Compensation' of our contract shows a line item described as "Land Surveying � Easement Preparation", the actual description of the task under 'Attachment A`, page 9 of 14, Task 7.2 Right-of-Way/Easement preparation and Submittal, states: "it is not anticipated that this project will require... permanent and/or temporary easements required to construct the improvements." This easement has been written and is currently being reviewed by the Northwest Independent School District. • RPLS time to prepare the easement and 10°lo coordination $550.00 C. Additional Services -additional meetings with Gity and local neighborhood Based on conversations with the City Project Manager and updated knowledge of the project scope, we are anticipating two additional meetings with the City staff and the local school district officials. We are also anticipating one meeting with the local neighborhood to answer questions about scope and scheduling. These meetings were not anticipated in our original contract fee.
