Home My WebLink AboutContract 38135-A2 (2) CITY SECRETARY, CONTRACT No. - AMENDMENT No.2 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 38135 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and URS Corporation, (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 38135, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C C-23177 on the 11th day of November, 2008 in the amount of $ 634, 007 . 00; and WHERAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by: Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $9, 306. 00 administratively authorized on October 20, 2009; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project : Storm Water Utility Project - Forest Park Parkview Storm Drain (City Project No. 00674) ; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1 . Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated November 7, 2012, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $9, 721 . 00. (See Attached Funding Breakdown Sheet, Page -3-) 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $653, 034. 00. 3 . All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force a ct. The services for Amendment No. 2 are in addition to or modify our current scope of services. A description of the additional services and associated fees are provided below. A detailed breakdown of the proposed fee for these additional services is also attached. URS —ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES 1.Design Storm Drain Inlet with a lateral connection on Forest Park Blvd.: The City has informed URS about a drainage related complaint filed by a local Citizen. This complaint is about a low spot formed due to curb and gutter settlement on Forest Park Blvd. in front of Lot 2, Block 34R, Edward Heirs Addition. The Citizen has observed that for the last several years during any rain event, water ponds at the above location. The City has asked URS to design a storm drain inlet at the above location with a lateral connection to the existing storm drain underneath the median in Forest Park Blvd. a. Storm Drain Inlet Design: Provide engineering services for the design of a suitable storm drain inlet to collect the rain water at the above mentioned location and design the storm drain lateral to connect this inlet to the nearest existing storm drain in Forest Park Blvd. This will require addition of three sheets- local drainage area map, storm drain calculations and a plan &profile sheet for the proposed storm drain. b. Adjust existing 12" Water line: The existing 12" Water line in the west parkway of Forest Park Blvd. may obstruct the proposed storm drain lateral. To avoid this, the existing 12" Water line may need to be lowered. The proposed additional engineering services by URS will include a plan and profile sheet showing the adjustments to the existing 12" Water line to facilitate the construction of the proposed storm drain inlet and lateral. Additional Topographic survey, as it is assumed that existing Topographic survey is sufficient to provide the above mentioned design services. 2. Geo-Technical exploratory borings. 3. Analysis of the existing storm drain system. 4. Paving improvements beyond the normal limits (as defined by the City Standard pavement trench repair details) of the proposed storm drain improvements. 5. Traffic control plans. 6. Preparation of Specifications and contract documents.
