Addition of sewer line was addetl by Water Department. During construction, the existing sewer line was discovered to be leaking and in need of replacement. Addition of the pavement quantity and relatetl items (the extra block) was added during middle of construction as well. This adtled block was needed due to poor existing pavement antl also to ensure consistency in pavement type (concrete) within the neighborhood. New asphalt items were added to make the transition zones conform with existing pavem ment is asphalt and the improvements are being constructed with concrete. Lastly, on Deen Rd, the stormdrain trench '`�� � a ` lacement and therefore only required concrete was part of the quantity. DISCUSSION: The primary purpose of the change order recommended by this Mayor and Council Communication is to provide compensation for the replacement of a sanitary sewer line that was found to be leaking during construction. This change order also includes some additional street paving to ensure a consistent quality of pavement on all streets impacted by this project. On July 24, 2012, (M&C C-25762) the City Council authorized an Agreement with Conatser Construction TX, LP, to construct this project, which includes the installation of storm drain on Zwolle Street, Beaumont Street, and Terminal-Deen Road. The project is needed to reduce the risk of severe home flooding and roadway overtopping. The project also includes replacement of deteriorating water and sewer lines. Funding for this project is being provided from revenue bonds in the Stormwater Capital Projects Bond Fund and from the Sewer Capital Projects Fund. M/WBE Office - Conatser Construction TX, LP, is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to an additional 10 percent M/WBE participation on this Change Order No. 1. The City's goal on this Change Order is nine percent. This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2, Mapsco 49S. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Financial Management Services Director certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of the Stormwater Capital Projects Bond Fund and the Sewer Capital Projects Fund.
