Replace and correct fiow direction of an existing stormdrain pipe that hatl setlimentation antl reverse stormwater flow. The additional
work was discoveretl after excavating a trench tluring construction. This change order requires removing and replacing 2 existing stormdrain
lines, raising 2 inlet floors, and extending an 8 inch water in conflict with the repair.

� DISCUSSION:
The construction c,antract recommended by this Mayor and Council Communicatian is for the
insta(lation of storm drain pipe and in�ets and curb and gutter improvements ta carrect street and
�° home flooding in the Rolling Hills subdivision.
Costs for the implementation of this project wil! be funded by the Stormwate� Capital Projects Bond
�. Fund.
The project was advertised for bid on May 10, 2012 and May 17, 2012 in the Fort Worth Star-
Tetearam. On May 31, 2012, the following bids were received:

Funding in the amount ofi $92,30Q.00 is included for associated construction sunrey, project
management, materials testing, and inspection. The contingency fund for passib(e change orders is in
the amount oi $26,400.00.
Woody Contractors, Inc., is in compliance with the City's MNVBE Ordinance by commifting io 24
percent MMBE participation. The City's gaal an this project is 20 percent.
This project is located in COUNCIL DlSTRICT 8, Mapsco 91 D.
FISCAL fNfORMATION/CERTIFtCAT10N:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that funds are available in the cuRent capital
budget, as approp�iated of the Stormwater Capital Projects Bond Fund.

The action taken yesterday was a recommendation tv eward. Normalty, the contract would mirror the
Md�C, but that assumes there is not a typo, as would appear in this case. Fortunately, the award was for
an amount greater than the bid. The Agreement ta be signed should be in the amount of the bid.
