This type of pavement was not included in original plan but this improvement is done per TxDOT recommendation. A time extension of 16 days is needed for the stop and restart of work with TxDOT approval. This change order also covers cost for channel excavation at Cravens Road bridge which was inadvertently omitted during bid. This change order is also to adtl cost for remobilization, restoration and regrading of channel slope. The cost for widening of asphalt driveway with pipe culvert to an adjacent property to ensure proper access is also included to this change order. An extension of 36 days is proposetl for this portion of work. Additional days are being requested for delays incurred at Chapin Road bridge due to a gas line conflict that total 30 days and at Cravens Road bridge due to an overheatl AT&T conflict that total 30 days. A total tiem extension of 112 days is being requested for these two projects. Louis Construction of Texas Ltd., in the Amount of $136,219.00 for a Revised Total Contract Amount of $2,551,629.00 for Chapin Road Bridge and Cravens Road Bridge Replacements and Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocations at Cravens Road (COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3 and 5) RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of Change Order No. 1, to City Secretary Contract No. 45105 with S.J. Louis Construction of Texas, Ltd., in the amount of $136,219.00 for a revised contract amount of $2,551,629.00 for Chapin Road Bridge and Cravens Road Bridge Replacements and Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocations at Cravens Road. DISCUSSION: On October 7, 2013, (M&C C-26492) the City Council authorized execution of a contract with S.J. Louis Construction of Texas, Ltd., in the amount of $2,415,410.00 for Chapin Road Bridge and Cravens Road Bridge Replacements and Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocations at Cravens Road. Change Order No. 1 will allow for additional asphalt underneath of concrete paving on the east approach road of Chapin Road Bridge located in Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) right—of—way. The TxDOT inspector called for additional improvements, which was not in the original proposed project plan. As for the Cravens Road Bridge, this change order will cover cost for channel excavation, which was inadvertently omitted in bid documents. This change order will also add cost for remobilization and widening of an asphalt driveway to an adjacent property to ensure proper access delineation for property owners. Funding for this change order is available in the 2004 Bond Street Improvement Fund. M/WBE OFFICE — S.J. Louis Construction of Texas, Ltd. agrees to maintain its initial MBE commitment of 13 percent that it made on the original contract and extend and maintain that same MBE commitment of 13 percent to this Change Order No. 1. Therefore, S.J. Louis Construction of Texas, Ltd., remains in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance and attests to its commitment by its signature on the Acceptance of Previous MBE Commitment form executed by an authorized representative of its company. The project is located in COiTNCIL DISTRICTS 3 and 5, Mapsco 72V and 79Z. FISCAL INFORMATION: The Financial Management Services Director certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of the 2004 Bond Street Improvements Fund. The 2004 Bond Street Improvement Program included $3,500,000.00 for Bridge Replacements.
