MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN TWO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES
REGARDING 24/7 COVERAGE AND FEDERAL CRIME REPORTING DATA
1. Parties.
This Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter referred to as "MOU") is made and entered into by and
between Crowley ISD Police Department, 2205 N Crowley Cleburne Rd, Crowley, TX 76036 (hereinafter
referred to as "Requesting Agency"), and City of Fort Worth, 505 West Felix Street, Fort Worth, TX 76115
(hereinafter referred to as "Covering Agency".)
2. Purpose.
The purpose of this MOU is to establish statistical data submission guidelines for Uniform Crime Reporting
in the event that law enforcement support is provided outside an agency's jurisdiction.
3.Term of MOU.
This MOU is effective upon the day and date last signed and executed by the duly authorized
representatives of the parties to this MOU and the governing bodies of the parties' respective counties or
municipalities and shall remain in full force and effect until requesting agency is fully staffed for 24/7
operation, or other arrangements are agreed to by both parties.
4. Responsibilities of the requesting agency.
Be it known that[requesting agency]is currently not staffed full-time (24/7)and that during the hours they
are not staffed, the covering agency will cover their jurisdiction. It is the responsibility of the requesting
agency to acquire the data for their jurisdiction when covered by covering agency and report all crime data
from within their jurisdiction to the Texas Department of Public Safety through the Uniform Crime
Reporting program.
5. Responsibilities of the covering agency.
The covering agency will not report the statistical information for any crimes responded to within the
jurisdiction of the requesting agency either to the Texas Department of Public Safety or the FBI through the
Uniform Crime Reporting program. Furthermore, the covering agency will share all details of their
involvement(even calls for service)emanating from within the jurisdiction of the requesting agency during
their hours of coverage, so that the requesting agency may accurately report the statistical information of
crimes committed within their jurisdiction to the Department of Public Safety in their monthly Uniform
Crime Report.
6. Responsibilities of Both Parties.
And both parties agree that all crimes committed within any particular jurisdiction are owned by that
jurisdiction, for statistical purposes, and shall only be reported to by the jurisdiction where the crime was
committed.
7. Signatures.
In witness whereof, the parties to this MOU through their duly authorized representatives have executed
this MOU on the days and dates set out below, and certify that they have read, understood, and agreed to
the terms and conditions of this MOU as set forth herein.The effective date of this MOU is the date of the
signature last affixed to this page.
