engineering services specified in a proposal dates February 12, 2013,
copy of which is attached hereto and i nc rporated herein . The cost

Article 1I of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase 1

for Amendment No. I are in addition to or modify our current scope of services, A description of the
additional services and associated fees are pirovide�d betow. A detailed breakdown of the proposed, fee for

2. Additional Storm Dra*n Design 6ervices,-Per City's direction during the 30% design review
meeting held on. 12/11/12, the following additional design services will be performed by the URS
design team,
a. "Phase 2" Storm Drain Design: The proposed stom-1 drain on Janice Lane will be extended
to a point approximately 2,25-ft, south of the,intersectioia with No St. as shown on, the
30% design submittal. This extension involves preliminary and final, design of an additional
825 ft. of storm drain and approximately mately four additional storm inlets. The additional storm
drain design includes performing hydraulic calculations, hydraulic gradient line, and inlet
computation tables to be included on the construction plans. The traffic control plan and

The MW-BE participation goal assigned to the original contract is 19.0%. In order to maintaint at goal,
URS proposes to transfer the,Phase 1 design services for preparation of traffic control plans, erosion

control plans, and water line lowering to EBG Engineen,ng for an agreed I'Limp, sum fee of$7,850-00.
This will provide EBG,Engineering with a,more significant role "in the project. The total M/'WBE fee
participation for this project including Amendment No. I and the afore-mentiolned transfer of desUY'n
services to EBG Engineering will be $ 8,934.00 ($2 ",534.00 + 3,550.00 + $71,850.00 = $38,934.00) or a
total M/WBE percentage of 19.00%.

It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of Amendment No., I to City Secretary Contract
No.4` 084,an engineering services Agreement with URS Corporation, in the,amount of$59,,995.00 for the
design of stormwater utility project—Carten Street erosion protection and drainage improvements,thereby
increasing the total contract amount to$203,675.00.

The Amendment recorrunended by this Mayor and Council Communication will provide for the design of
additional, storm drain, replacement of an existing headwall and relocation of a City waterline outside of the
original project limits. The need to expand project lin-6ts was identified during preliminary analysis.
On January 21, 2012, the City Council authorized an Agreement with URS Corporation,to provide
prelirm*nary analysis and engineering (MSC' C-25441). URS Corporation, proposes to perforrn the
Amendment design services for a lump sum fee in the amount of$59,995.00. Staff considers the fee to be fair
and reasonable for the scope of services provided.
Funding for this pro j. is being provided from revenue bonds in the Stormwater Capital Projects Bond Fund.
M Office: URS Corporation, agrees to maintain its initial M/WBE commitment of 19 percent that it
made on the original Agreement and extend and maintain that same NM BE commitment of 19 percent to
this first Arnendment. Therefore,, URS Corporation, remains in compliance with the City's M/WBE
Ordinance and attests to its comm.itment by its signature on the Acceptance of Previous MAVBE
Comraitment,form executed by an authorized representative of its company.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 4 and 5, Mapsco 80G.
FISCAL INFQRMATIQNO
The Financial management Services Director certifies,that funds are available in the current capital budget,
as,appropriated,of the Stormwater Capital Projects Bond Fund.
