HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 22244 M, R cr� N RACT NO: AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AND EXTENSION OF CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NOS. 12833 AND 12834 CONSORTIUM AGREEMENT AMONG CITIES OF THE FORT WORTH CONSORTIUM FOR EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAMS This AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AND EXTENSION OF CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NOS. 12833 AND 12834 is made and entered into by and between the FORT WORTH CONSORTIUM FOR EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAMS ("Consortium"), composed of the Cities of Euless, Fort Worth, Haltom City and White Settlement, Texas (the "Cities"), each acting by and through its respective duly authorized officer as indicated by the execution hereof, and the CITY OF FORT WORTH ("Fort Worth"), acting by and through Ramon Guajardo, its duly authorized Assistant City Manager. WHEREAS, the Cities jointly entered into City Secretary Contract ("CSC") No. 12833, as previously amended by CSC No. 20639 and previously extended, an agreement in which the Cities organized and Joined the Consortium, and CSC No. 12834, as previously amended by CSC No. 20639 and previously extended, an agreement in which the Cities established Fort Worth as the administrative unit of the Consortium; and WHEREAS, the Cities have individually adopted Resolutions declaring a continuing need for the Consortium and a desire to continue their membership in the Consortium, with Fort Worth serving as the Consortium's administrative unit, through at least June 30, 1997; and WHEREAS, Chapter 2308 of the Texas Government Code calls for the implementation of a consolidated workforce development system for Texas, including the creation of the Fort Worth/Tarrant County Local Workforce Development Area, which will replace the need for the Consortium; NOW, THEREFORE,THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: 1. The terms of CSC Nos. 12833 and 12834, as previously amended by CSC No. 20639 and previously extended, are hereby extended until June 30, 1997; provided, however, that any City, by delivering written notice to the other Cities, may terminate its membership in the Consortium at any time following dissolution of the Consortium by operation of federal and/or state law. 1 All other conditions and provisions of CSC Nos. 12833 and 12834, as previously amended by CSC No, 20639 and previously extended, that are not expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and effect.
