AMENDMENT No . 1
TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 57029
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Neel -Schaffer, Inc.,
(ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 57029, (the
CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C 22-0049 on the 11th day of January,
2022 in the amount of $543,512.00; and
WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the
following project:
Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacement Contract 2020, WSM-J; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to the
CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee.
NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through
their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following
agreement, which amends the CONTRACT:
1.
Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in proposal attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services
to be performed by Engineer totals $53,760.00 (Water: $37,632; Sewer:
$16,128. 00) .
2.
Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in
the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under
the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all
work and services shall be an amount of $597,272.00.
3.
All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly
amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect.

Reference: Design Services for Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacement Contract 2020, WSM-J, City
Project Number 103420; Amendment 1 for Additional Services to Extend the Project by
adding Malvern Trail waterline to the project, and other adjustments to water and sewer
alignments within the existing project scope. Revision 6.
Dear Liam:
Neel -Schaffer, Inc. offers additional Professional Engineering and Surveying Services for this project. These
additional services were requested by the City of Fort Worth, since there has not been a water rehabilitation
project on Malvern Trails from Canberra Court to Mitchell Boulevard. The sanitary sewer in Malvern Trail was
replaced in two projects in 1998 (X-17829) and 1999 (X-17891) respectively and will not be addressed in this
amendment. This amendment will also cover the City's request to re-route the sewer lateral L-2513 off of the
Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth property on Burchill Road to relocate this lateral in Burchill Road to tie to existing
sewer lateral L-2660 at McKenzie Street then proceed northerly along McKenzie Street approximately 155 feet to
the original ending manhole east of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth property.
The survey limits of the work are approximately 900 feet of Malvern Trail from Canberra Court to Mitchell
Boulevard for the Malvern Trail portion of the addition and approximately 155 feet of survey will be required on
McKenzie Street to complete the mapping. An additional 600 feet of Burchill Road from the west side of Binkley
Street to its junction with Vaughn Boulevard is included.
The water and sanitary sewer work and associated paving replacement are described below:

Task 2.3 Additional 80' of 8" waterline (design) across Mitchell Blvd. at Malvern Trail. ($535.00).
Task 2.4 Realignment of 900' of 12" waterline (design) in Berry Street to middle of road to shorten long
services ($5,010.00).
Task 2.5 Second revision to tle-in for 24" waterline (design) in Mitchell Blvd. at E. Berry Street due to timing
of project with other projects consultant. ($2,235.00)

Task 2.10 The addition, then removal of the 8" waterline on Burchill's south end (survey & design) from
junction with Binkley Street to junction with Vaugh Boulevard being approximately 600 feet of
additional survey and two plan sheets for the 8" waterline, plus the additional paving area
modifications. ($5,965.00)
Task 3.1 Malvern Trail addition of 870' of 6" waterline replacement (survey & design) with 8" waterline
from Mitchell Blvd. to Canberra Court. ($6,307,00)
Task 3.2 Addition of 860 feet of POL for Malvern Trail from Mitchell Blvd. to Canberra Court. ($855.00)
Task 3.3 Adjustments to Layout and Paving Sheets ($320.00)
Task 8.0 Additional Design Surveys. ($12,810)
This work will require approximately two new double plan sheets for the Malvern Trail 8" water line replacement.
One new plan/profile sheet may be needed for the re-route of the 8" lateral, L-2660, in Burchill Road.
No additional SUE or Geotechnical work is included,
Neel -Schaffer, Inc. proposes to increase the contract amount by $53,760.00 for these additional services. See
attached Level of Effort for backup. All additional services will be performed in accordance with the original
contract dated January 22, 2022.
