HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 31779 CITY SECRETARR ,, MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE "AGREEMENT FOR AUTOMATIC ASSISTANCE" BETWEEN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH AND THE NAVAL AIR STATION JOINT RESERVE BASE FORT WORTH Whereas, the City of Fort Worth and the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, hereinafter"NAS JRB FW" entered into an"Agreement for Automatic Assistance; and Whereas, the Agreement for Automatic Assistance requires that the Fire Chiefs mutually agree to the type and amount of assistance to be provided by a memorandum of understanding; and Whereas, The Fire Chief of the City of Fort Worth Fire Department and the Fire Chief of the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth agree to the following memorandum of understanding. The following specifies said amounts and types of assistance, methods of dispatching and communications, training programs and procedures and areas to be assisted. The specific terms for this memorandum of understanding are: • Upon receipt of a 1 alarm assignment request by the NAS JRB FW,the Fort Worth Fire Department will dispatch 2 engine companies, 1 truck company, and a battalion chief with a minimum total of 10 personnel • To backup the NAS JRB FW fire station, the Fort Worth Fire Department will send one engine company with a minimum staffing of 3 personnel • Upon receipt for automatic aid into the City of Fort Worth to the area as shown in the attached map, the NAS JRB FW will dispatch one Engine Company or Truck Company that is staffed by at least four(4)personnel. • NAS JRB FW will purchase alerting and communications equipment, including 2 portable radios,that will be configured.in such a way as to be able to operate in the City of Fort Worth communications system. One portable radio will be issued to the NAS JRB FW Fire Department and the other to the NAS JRB FW Police Department. The City of Fort Worth will program said communications equipment. Once this is accomplished,NAS JRB FW will be in the FW Fire Department Computer Aided Dispatch(CAD) system and be dispatched through the FWFD Fire Alarm Office (FAO). • The NAS JRB FW will have up to two ARFF vehicles and staffing available for use by the City of Fort Worth. • The NAS JRB FW will have one Zodiac and personnel available for basic water rescue exclusive of swift water rescue and underwater search and recovery. • Training opportunities-the FWFD will extend training opportunities to NAS JRB FW personnel on a regular basis so that they become familiar with the Incident Command System(ICS);tactics and strategy; and equipment as used by the FWFD. NAS JRB FW will make available, their Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting(ARFF) apparatus for the training of FW ARFF personnel.
