PECAN VALLEY GOLF COURSE CLUBHOUSE RENOVATIONS AND NEW PAVILION PROJECT

WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and Nader Design Group (Architect) made and entered into City
Secretary Contract No. 42958 ('The Contract) which was administratively executed: in the amount of
$291,000.00, plus up to 3,000.0 in reimbursable expanses.
WHEREAS, further amendment is necessary to reimburse the Architect for drawing modifications and
bidding services for the project as part of thile design services agreement; and
NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, acting herein by and through, their l duly authorized
representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract-.
1.
Article 1.1, SECTION I —SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, the following paragraph is added to read as
follows..
"Revise the Construction Documents for proposed additional'structural engineering services for
pavilloin and front porch foundations. The scope of services is described in the Nader Design
Group letter dated August 19, 2013, Subject: Pecan Valley GC Clubhouse Renovations and New
Pavilion Project, attached hereto as Attachment"Aar and' made a part of this Agreement 51

Paragraph 1 of SECTION V-COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows.*
"The total compensation for all of the assignments, to be! by Architect as described in
CHARACTER AND EXTENT of ARCHITECT'S SERVICES hereof shall be a fixed fee of
$30,200.00 plus up to$3,000.001 In reimbursable expleases.
3.
All other provisions of this Contract which are not expressly amen�ded herein shall remain in full force and
effect.,

Foundations.

We are writing to present a proposal for additional design services on the above prpject
in the amount of$1,200. As previously mentioned this request is for consultant's
services only. The basis for this request,Is as follows:
The geotechnical report provided recommendations for a typical PEMB foundation,
however because-of the unique requirements of this site the recommendations,could not
be used. The report did reveal the presence of clays to depths of 14-24'. Befog that
was the purported sand,as well[as seams of water. The purported presence of clays
indicated favorable conditions for the design of under-reamed shafts that would be
suitable for resisting the loads anticipated on these structures at the relatively shallow
depth allowed. As a matter of tact,the porch cover,foundation was originally designed to
-function Independent of its concrete sllab. However,due to the actuall conditions at the
site being different than the borings in the geotechnical report indicated, no clays
present,,our necessary,re-design compensates,for the uplift and lateral loads,by
providing ad'ditional mass at atolp,and connecting the piers.
