COUNTY OF TARRANT S
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Half Associates,
Inc., (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No.
38352, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by the City on the 20th
day of March 2009; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Lake Shore Drive Alternative Alignment Feasibility Study;
Project No. 01295
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1
to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement, which amends the Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the
additional engineering services specified in the proposal letter
dated September 16, 2009, a copy of which are attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design
services to be performed by Engineer total $14,800.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work
and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $38,900.00.

All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Please find attached three (3) originals of revised Engineering Amendment No. 1 for the
above-referenced project. Our proposal was revised, as requested, to include one (1)
additional public meeting for a total of two (2) public meetings. If our proposal is

LAKE SHORE DRIVE ALTERNATIVE ALIGNMENT STUDY
STUDY NO. 01295
SCOPE OF WORK
Preface
The City of Fort Worth Lake Shore Drive Alternative Alignment Study shall be amended
as requested by the City to extend north to Quail Road and south across the B.B.
Mosites tract, as recorded in Vol. 6215, Pg. 517, and Vol. 6112, Pg. 784 of the
D.R.T.C.T., to merge with the existing MTP location.
Additional Services
a. Alignment Study
The ENGINEER will evaluate the north and southern portions of the 2004 MTP and
the revised MTP alignment. The ENGINEER will evaluate the right-of-way
requirements, constructability, permitting, and public opinion of each alignment and
provide a recommendation to the city.
b. Schematic Design
Revised conceptual schematics will be prepared for both the 2004 MTP alignment
and the revised MTP alignment for use in the Public Meeting.
c. Right-of-Way Determination
The Engineer will provide preliminary estimates of necessary right-of-way area,
relocations, and demolition based on each alignment. The estimates will be based
on the existing Tarrant Appraisal District Maps.
d. Estimates of Probable Construction Costs
Estimates will not be prepared for the alignments north of E. Berry Street nor south
of Wilbarger Street.
e. Report
It is not necessary for the original report to be revised.
f. Public Meeting
The ENGINEER will assist the City in conducting two (2) additional public meetings
with residents and other stakeholders to present the schematic designs. The
ENGINEER will prepare visual materials for presentation at the meeting.

Project Schedule
a. Public meeting will be conducted in late October on a date determined by the City.
b. The Master Thoroughfare Plan revision will be presented again to the Planning
Commission tentatively on November 25 th

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
I. Additional Compensation
The Engineer shall be compensated an additional total lump sum fee of
$14,800.00. Payment of the total lump sum fee shall be considered full
compensation for the additional services described in Attachment "A" for all labor
materials, supplies and equipment necessary to complete the project.
