Amendment No. 1 Eastland Creek Open Channel Study City Project No. SINS-019 Dear Mr. Eubanks: As we discussed at our meeting on January 21, 2011, this amendment revises the previously approved Eastland Creek Open Channel Study, City Secretary Contract No. 38800, City Project No. SWS-019. Specifically, this amendment includes the incorporation of the 2009 LiDAR topo into the HEC-RAS hydraulic model. HDR completed the development of the HEC-RAS model in December of 2009, using the 2001 LiDAR topo, since the new 2009 LiDAR topo was still under evaluation. In February of 2010, the 2009 LiDAR was accepted for use in the Open Channel Studies program, and the notification of this status also stated that exceptions would be made on a case by case basis for consultants who were further along in their hydraulic modeling. Modifying the HEC-RAS model to include the 2009 LiDAR topo improves the consistency and applicability of the study project deliverables. The specific work to be included in this amendment is as follows: • Convert the 2009 geodatabase into a triangular irregular network (tin). • Recut and export cross section geometry using HEC-GeoRAS. • Edit the geometry of 137 cross sections using HEC-RAS to incorporate the 2009 overbanks. • Redo the reach lengths and make changes to the ineffective flow areas as needed. • Cross check and review the updated cross sections. Schedule HDR estimates that it will take an additional 2 weeks to update the HEC- RAS model The remainder of the project schedule will remain the same. 8 3-2 .r Non ()NE COMPANY JAI'any Solutions- Mr. Steven Eubanks, P.E., CFM February 8, 2011 Page 2 of 2 Deliverables Deliverables will remain the same as outlined in the contract.
