IN ACCORDANCE Wn H THIS CHANGE ORDER,THE CONTRACTOR SHALL:
As described in proposal and supporting documenting submitted to City by AUI on November 9-10,2011(see Attachment 1),implement the use of belt press technology to remove,
handle,and process sludge for disposal for the purpose of removing moisture from sludge which will reduce both actual sludge quantity and the amount of fly ash required to stabilize
sludge. Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that contaminated solid or aqueous-phase sludge does not contaminate work areas during operation of belt press equipment.
Contractor shall also be responsible for decontaminating/disposing of belt press and associated equipment at the conclusion of the project.All liquids generated by belt press operations
shall be processed through Liquids Treatment Processing Facility per Specification 02218. Processed sludge must meet requirements for classification as a TSCA-regulated
nonhazardous waste. If belt press process results in sludge that has difficulty meeting nonhazardous waste classification requirements, Contractor shall revert to original sludge
handling and processing methods described in Specification Section 02218 at no additional cost to City.
Contract quantities and unit costs are revised per this change order as shown in Table 1(attached).
M/WBE participation goal for the project remains unchanged at 13.00%.

Change Order Request No. 1(CO-01)
Dear Mr. Talley:
Enclosed please find a copy of Change Order No. 1 for work to be performed by AU1 Contractors,
Inc. on the above referenced project.
This change order reduces the overall contract value by$762.00 to$5,254,278.00. The purpose of
this change order is to implement the use of belt press equipment into the sludge handling process in
order to significantly reduce the quantity of fly ash required to stabilize sludge and the total volume
of stabilized sludge that will require transportation and disposal. Use of this method could
potentially result in significant cost savings for the project that would be realized if the revised
contract quantities are below budget at the end of the project.

PHASE 1-
1 Remove upper layer of solid sludge using a air mover(vacuum truck)
a)alternate method would be to use a trackhoe to remove this layer
2 Upper layer of solid sludge would be transferred to a roll-off box for treatment with fly ash
via vacuum truck
PHASE'2
1 Remaining liquideous sludge and suspended solids will be pumped from the digester
through a sludge pump and run through a press to separate the solids from the liquids.
2 Pressed solids will be transferred directly from the press into a roll-off box for mixing
with fly ash(as needed).
3 Liquid will be pumped from press into first FRAC tank for processing through on-site facility
(similar to the Digester#9 project).
PHASE 3=
1 Process water throughLiquids Treatment Tank,filter and remaining FRAC tanks for disposal
into Sanitary Sewer Manhole.
2 Complete mixing of fly ash in solid sludge,test and transfer to TSCA disposal site.
