Assistant Director Water Department Engineering and Fiscal Services City of Fort Worth 1000 Throckmorton Street Fort Worth,Texas 76102 Reference: Biosolids Facilities Expansion Belt Press No. 6 Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Proposal to Revise Scope of Design Services Dear Mr. Cronberg: In response to your request, and project meeting held July 28, 2014, Deltatek Engineering is pleased to provide you with this proposal to revise the Scope of Services on our existing Engineering Services Contract. City of Fort Worth desires to replace the lime"pug mill", install a new polymer system to feed Belt Presses 5 & 6, replace all grinder pumps, and meter all six (6) polymer pumps. Deltatek will amend the plans for installation of Belt Press No. 6 to include these items. I would note that our original proposal only provided design for installation of new belt press and auxiliary items (pumps, piping, etc.) associated with that press. Addition of these items increases the scope of that original proposal. See attached Exhibit A for revised scope of service, schedule, and design fees. Should you have any questions, please call me at 972-255-9500, or 214-232-5040. Sincerely, DELTATEK ENGINEERING OA44V W11400 Bahram Niknam, P.E. We have reviewed comments by City staff, and Renda Environmental indicating the need to upgrade/replace components of the polyrner and lime systems in order to improve the operation of the facility. Deltatek Engineering has been requested to revise the plans to include replacement of the lime system "pug mill", install a new separate polymer feed system supply to feed Belt Presses 5 & 6, add metering pumps to all six (6) of the polymer pumps, and replace all three (3) sludge grinders. I would point out that Deltatek has already made provisions to replace the grinder pump for press 5, sludge pump and polymer pump serving Belt Press 5, add a new platform access stairway, and upgrade the motor/gearing of the conveyor belt at no additional charge for those design modifications. The scope of work for this revision shall include but is not limited to the following: A Lime System: I. Upsize the existing 5'-0" diameter bin activator with a 6'-0" diameter bin activator. 2. Replace existing twin 18" sludge lime mixers with twin 24" SS Sludge Lime Mixers including two (2) 10 hp motors with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). 3. Utilize existing conveyor belt scale to optimize feed rate. 4. Site civil work required to mount the new equipment. 5. System requires 480VAC, 3p, 60Hz electrical power. Availability of power to be determined by others. B Polymer System: I. Piping modifications to serve polymer pumps for Belt Presses I — 4 only from existing polymer feed system. 2. Install new polymer feed system and piping to feed polymer pumps for Belt Presses 5 & 6. 3. Add flow metering capability to all six (6) polymer pumps. 4. System requires 480VAC, 3p, 60Hz electrical power. Availability of power to be determined by others. Page 1 of 2 C. Polymer Pump Metering: 1. Add flow meter on six(6)polymer pump discharge lines. D. Replace Grinder Pumps: 1. Remove two (2) existing grinders. Grinder for Belt Presses 5 & 6 included in original design. 2. Replace grinders for Belt Presses 1&2 — 3&4 with two (2) new "Moyno" Grinders Model P415GI50 15 hp TEFC Gear Motor units. Include all valves and hardware. 3. Replace all existing 6" piping on grinder pump with 8" piping.
