HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 30234 CIT`,' SECRETARY STATE OF TEXAS § ` � T NO. r wf� COUNTY OF TARRANT § Amendment to City Secretary Contract No. 28855 THIS contract is made and entered into by and between the City of Fort Worth ("City"), acting and through Charles Boswell, its duly authorized Assistant City Manager, and the Bridge Emergency Youth Services ("Contractor"), by and through Mr. Randy Spencer, its duly authorized Executive Director. Contractor's business address is 115 West Broadway, Fort Worth, TX 76104. WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has been notified that it will receive grant monies from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") through the Community Development Block Grant("CDBG") for Year XXIX; and, WHEREAS,the primary purpose of the CDBG Program is to benefit low and moderate income citizens of Fort Worth; and, WHEREAS,the citizens of Fort Worth,the Community Development Council,and the City Council of Fort Worth have determined that Programs are needed by low and moderate income citizens of Fort Worth; WHEREAS, Contract No. 28855 was funded from CDBG Grant Year XXIX and funds remain available for budgeted amounts to support this contract; and, WHEREAS, Contract No. 28855 expired on May 31,2004 and the parties wish to extend that contract by 60 days to expire on July 31, 2004; NOW, THEREFORE, THIS AGREEMENT FURTHER WITNESSETH: THAT, the parties covenant and agree to amend part 1 of Contract No. 28855 to read as follows: 1. Scope of Services a. Contractor will administer services to citizens of the City of Fort Worth under the program name Buffalo Soldiers ("Program"), for the term June 1, 2003 to July 31, 2004. All other terms and conditions of City Secretary Contract No. 28855 remain in full force and effect. Housing Opportunities for Persons with HIV/AIDS (HOPWA,) AIDS Outreach Center, Inc. $462,620.00 Tarrant County Samaritan Housing, Inc. $242,539.00 AIDS Resources of Rural Texas $104,791.00 TOTAL HOPWA $809,950.00 DISCUSSION: On April 6, 2004, the City Council approved and adopted the budgets and the appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations for the Thirtieth (30th) Year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), (2004-2005), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), and (2004-2005) Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), grant funds as part of the City's Consolidated Action Plan. The Consolidated Action Plan, as adopted by the City Council, included program descriptions for each of the above funded programs. The above programs are consistent with the City's approved priorities and the City Council's prior policies and meet the requirements of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations concerning eligible "activities." httpd/www.dwnet.drq/council_packet/Reports/mc_print.asp 6/14/2004 Page 3 of 3 FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of the Grants Fund contingent upon approval and receipt of adequate funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the term beginning June 1, 2004, and ending May 31, 2005.
