Home My WebLink AboutContract 30533 AMENDMENT NO. 1 STATE OF TEXAS § CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO.�� (No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT § WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and HNTB Corporation (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 29323 (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-19818 on the 21st day of October, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering Service for Pavement Reconstruction and water and sanitary sewer reconstruction on Malcom Street (Craig Street to Lancaster Avenue) and Haynie Street (Craig Street to Lancaster Avenue) WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated August 20, 2004, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total $12,684.00 2. Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of$127,547.77 3. All other provisions of the contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect. Project Manager Engineering Department City of Fort Worth 1000 Throckmorton Fort Worth, TX 76102 Reference: Malcolm Street and Haynie Street Improvement Contract Amendment No. 1 Dear Gopal I am pleased to submit to you our attached proposal for Contract Amendment No. 1, which will accommodate the following additional design services for the referenced project: 1. Extend the proposed 8" water line under Haynie Street from Church Street to Kerr Street, a distance of approximately 450 feet. Assessment taps are to be installed at each lot within the limits. The cost for this service is $4,512. 2. Prepare plans and bid documents so that the City can receive bids for three separate construction options. The options are described in the attached document emitted "Malcolm Street and Haynie Street Bid Options". The cost this service is $8, 172. Therefore, the total cost for Contract Amendment No. 1 is $12,684. The attached proposal shows the cost breakdown between Water Department and TPW. Since you had stated that you wanted to bid the project quickly, we ask that you expedite the approval of this contract amendment.
