(Women's Haven) and the City to operate the Domestic Assault Response Team (DART) program. DISCUSSION: For the past three years, the police department has operated the DART project, a grant program to combat domestic violence. The program was initially funded through a federal grant and was expanded using state grant funds. Women's Haven has been a partner in this program since its inception. A contract was developed in the first grant to provide funds for its operation. This contract was approved by the federal grant agency. When the program moved to state funding, the same template was utilized for the new contract. That template was approved by the state grant manager after specific clauses were inserted at their request using language they specified. During the latest phase of the grant, the second template was utilized, but a new grant manager stated that the contract was not acceptable in format. In order to meet the new requirements, a contract form suggested by the state grant office has been utilized. Since City Secretary Contract (No. 24972) has already been executed, the new form is being included as an addendum to the current contract in order to satisfy the requirements of the current grant manager. The state format will be used for the next grant contract. There are no changes in any terms or conditions of the contract. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that this action has no material effect on City funds.
