(No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT $ Wf7REAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Dunaway Associates, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 24940, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C 17439 on the 25th day of May 1999; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering contract for the design of Main 106R Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer Systema Evaluation and Improvements (Group 4, Contract 2) Part 10 and Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation in the Main 71 Part 2, Drainage Area. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maxJ mum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated March 24, 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total $2, 651 .00. 2 . Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $45,351. 90. 3. DATE: April 5, 2000 RE: DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO MAIN 106R DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 4, CONTRACT 2) PART 10 AND SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION IN THE MAIN 7, PART 2 DRAINAGE AREA, DOE NO. 2601, SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410150 The proposed amendment will allow Dunaway Associates, Inc., to provide additional de- sign and survey services on the project as requested by City. It has been determined that it is necessary to replace approximately 200 linear feet of se- verely deteriorated sewer lines located within the project area. The poor condition of the sewer lines was unknown prior to approval of the original contract. Dunaway Associates, Inc., has submitted a fee in the amount of$2,651.00 for the addi- tional survey and design services to be performed thereby increasing the contract fee from $42,700.90 to $45,351.90. 1 believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that are to be provided and recommend approval. Please authorize the additional fee by your signatures on the attached contract amend- ment form.
