(No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT 8 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Dunaway Associates, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 24940 , (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C 17439 on the 25th day of May 1999; WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering contract for the design of Main 106R Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Evaluation and Improvements (Group 4, Contract 2) , Part 10 and Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation in the Main 7, Part 2 , Drainage Area. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1 . Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated April 26, 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $11, 863.00 2 . Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $57,214 . 90 . }EWE@ 3 . DOE DATE: May 2, 2000 RE: DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO MAIN 106R DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 4, CONTRACT 2), PART 10 AND SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION IN THE MAIN 7, PART 2 DRAINAGE AREA, DOE 2601, SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410150 The proposed amendment will allow Dunaway Associates, Inc., to provide additional design and survey services to the project as requested by the City. It has been determined that it is necessary to conduct an additonal 810 LF of sanitary sewer design and the associated work of survey and easement preparation. This extra segment of line was discovered during construction to be in very poor shape. The Water Department requested that this segment be replaced immediately Dunaway Associates Inc., has submitted a fee in the amount of$11,863.00 for the additional survey, design and easement preparation thereby increasing the contract fee from $45.31.90 to $57,214.90. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that are to be provided. It is recommend that the request be approved. Please authorize additional fee by your signatures on the attached contract amendment form.
