HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 11495ORDINANCE NO ~J AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND tN THE AMOUNT OF $200 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM CONGRESSMAN JOE BARYON, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1993-94 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of $200 00 for the purpose of accepting a donation form Congressman Joe Barton SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative or Ordinance No 11379 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provision of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. It is recommended that the City Council 1 Accept the donation of 5200 from Congressman Joe Barton for the Police Department's Gang Unit, and 2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the amount of 5200 in the Special Trust Fund, from increased revenue DISCUSSION Congressman Joe Barton received a 5200 honorarium for a speaking engagement which he wishes to donate to the department's Gang Unit This money would be used to purchase supplies for the Gang Intervention/Prevention program These supplies would consist of anti- gang stickers and coloring books, as well as other supplies that would be used during presentations to children FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION.
