Although the meeting is open to the public, citizens are requested to reserve comments and questions for the subsequent Council meeting so they will be a part of the public record. No. 6977 & M&C G-6144) Beuck: (Presented Informal Report) Newkirk: Indicated that he would prefer to wait and finance this project through a bond issue. He stated that Certificates of Obligation are only to be used in emergency cases. Lancaster: Indicated that he could not see any justification for the city making this kind of investment into this project. REFERRED TO: Johnson: Indicated that irrespective of the project the $1.8 million should be spent to renovate the Coliseum. Bolen: Indicated that the City has an obligation to maintain the Coliseum. RAM:RA Comments/Requests -- Councilman Lancaster would like to know how many CDs will be issued, and what kind of amortization? Would like the Law Department to check on the legality of using public funds in private venture. BT:WA Indicated that city need to prioritize the use of money. Citizens Presentations -- Ms. Betty Hildebrand requests that an ordinance against the sale of pornographic materials be passed. Ms. Katheren Frisby expressed her support of Ms. Hildebrand's request. cc CIA1.
