The purpose of the Pre -Council Conference held prior to a
regular City Council Meeting is to allow the Mayor and
Councilmembers to discuss informally items on the agenda and to
secure information from the City Manager and the staff.
Although the meeting is open to the public, citizens are
requested to reserve comments and questions for the subsequent
Council meeting so they will be a part of the public record.

Beuck: (Presented Informal Report)
Newkirk: Indicated that he would prefer to wait and finance
this project through a bond issue. He stated that
Certificates of Obligation are only to be used in
emergency cases.
Lancaster: Indicated that he could not see any justification for
the city making this kind of investment into this
project.
REFERRED TO:
Johnson: Indicated that irrespective of the project the $1.8
million should be spent to renovate the Coliseum.
Bolen: Indicated that the City has an obligation to maintain
the Coliseum. He stated that with tourism increasing
it is important to maintain the historical and cultural
significance of this area; since private investors are
interested in developing this area, the City should
support their efforts.

Ms. Betty Hildebrand requests that an ordinance against the sale
of pornographic materials be passed.
Ms. Katheren Frisby expressed her support of Ms. Hildebrand's
request.
