HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6221 ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF CHERRY LANE ADJACENT TO BLOCK 1 OF THE M. B. GRAFA ADDI- TION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described portion of right-of-way in the 2800 block of Cherry Lane adjacent to Block 1 of the M. B. Grafa Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever: A parcel of land containing 2064.77 square feet, being excess right-of-way on Cherry Lane adjacent to the west line of Block 1, M. B. Grafa Addition in the Hays Covington Survey, Abstract No. 256 in the City of Fort Worth, as recorded in Vol. 388-Q, page 501, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Block 1 of said M. B. Grafa Addition, said corner being on the east right-of-way line of said Cherry Lane; THENCE North 1 degree 29 minutes east along the west line of said Block 1 a distance of 482.4 feet to a point, said point being on the south line of Calmont Avenue and being the northwest corner of said Block 1; THENCE North 89 degrees 13 minutes West a dis- tance of 8.58 feet to a point; THENCE South 0 degrees 28 minutes West a dis- tance of 482.3 feet to the place of beginning. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall re- vert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. DATE REFERENCE SUBJECT: Vacation of Portion of 2800 PAGE GRAHAM HIC TON' NUMBER 12/29/69 Block of Cherry Lane PZ-378 (V-68-19) rcf REED FARRIN TON Ryan Mortgage Company, owner of all adjoining property, has requested that the City vacate a portion of right-of--way in the 2800 block of Cherry Lane adjacent to Block 1 of the M. B. Grafa Addition as shown on the attached map. This request is made in conjunction with realignment and improvement of Cherry Lane at its intersection with Calmont Street. A land exchange with the applicant has been arranged by the Land Division for land on the west side of Cherry Lane. The right-of-way width of Cherry Lane will remain at 80 feet. City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objection to this vacation provided the applicant plats the vacated right-of-way with adjoining property. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested. The appli- cant has submitted a satisfactory replat. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted- vacating the subject right- of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission. HDM:ms Attach.
