WA LAATE REFERENCE SUBJECT: Proposed Street Name Change - PAGE NUMBER Spurgeon Avenue to Fuller Street GRAhMI A ,I-NT6: 2RL 70 G-1591 1 of 1 The City staff requests that the street name of Spurgeon Avenue be changed to Fuller Street from Wellview Avenue east to the Santa Fe Railroad located approx- imately 325 feet east of McCart Street. This street from Wellview west is known as Fuller Street with many houses facing it. There are several lots facing this street between McCart Street and the railroad but there are no houses and the street is not open on the ground. Spurgeon Avenue from McCart west to Wellview has a number of lots abutting the street but all of the lots are side lots and face on to the north-south streets that cross Spurgeon. The Traffic Engineering Department is in the process of replacing all street signs throughout the city and this summer will be ordering the new street name signs for the south side area. Therefore, this change is requested prior to the ordering of new street name signs. City departments and the Postmaster have been notified of this proposed street name change and have voiced no objections. If the City Council desires to change the name of Spurgeon Avenue to Fuller Street between Wellview Avenue east to the Santa Fe Railroad, the necessary ordinance has been prepared for the City Council to adopt. Recommendation City Council action is requested on the proposed street name change of Spur- geon Avenue to Fuller Street, from Wellview east to the Santa Fe Railroad.
