CUELLA SURVEY ABSTRACT #267 AND ~ ROAD V-92-7 WILLIAM HUFF SURVEY ABSTRACT #648 HASLETT-ROANOK RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating approximately 2,540 feet of Haslett-Roanoke Road west of its intersection with Union Pacific Railroad and S.H. #377 (as delineated on the attached map, exhibit A and further described in the attached field notes, exhibit B) as approved by the City Plan Commission. DISCUSSION: Hillwood/Freeway Ltd., owner of all adjacent property, has requested that the above described street right-of-way be vacated. The proposed vacation is being made in order to use the vacated right-of-way as part of the redevelopment of the subject property. Two new streets are proposed to provide traffic access to the surrounding area and were a subject of the City Plan Commission at their meeting on April 29, 1992. A te]ephone cable exists in the public right-of-way and will be relocated, at the applicant's expense, as part of the redevelopment of the subject property. Temporary barricades will be provided to restrict public access until the new roadways are developed. Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objections to this request. Replat of the vacated right-of-way will occur as the property is developed. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: A value of $18,460 has been established for this public right-of-way. This value will be compensated for in the dedication of new public rights-of-way.
