Review of Disabled Homestead Exemption Policy ( I .R. No. 7523) DISCUSSION a. Council agreed to double exemption for disabled home- owners . b. Disabled homeowners will not have to pay taxes for home valued up to $50 , 000 . 2 . Cowtown Coliseum-Rental Rates and Admission Fees (M&C G-9100) SUMMARY a. Staff requested implementation of admission fees for certain events and reaffirmation of current rental fees . COUNCIL RESPONSE a. Council approved admission fees and current rental fees with amendment in non-profit group to read $500 if there are no ticket sales rather than $600 . 3 . Discussion on Contractual Agreement for Engineering Consultant Services (M&C C-12795) SUMMARY a. Staff proposed to contract for an amount not to exceed $33 ,000 to conduct engineering management study. COUNCIL RESPONSE a. Council asked staff to proceed with study. 4 . Legislative Issues SUMMARY a. Staff discussed a bill that would take City Council out of setting retirement benefit levels giving employees the authority to vote on this budgetary issue COUNCIL RESPONSE a. Zapata: consider the bill ; get copy of amendments and review. b. Meadows : concerned about taking a budgetary concern out of the process that all budget items are included in. c.
